For those that had third degree tear with first baby

Hi ladies,
I had a lovely birth but unfortunately had a third degree tear which wasn't great! I'm wondering for those that have had a third degree and then gone on to have another baby if you tore again/ had episiotomy or whether it was completely fine second time round. I'm just thinking of the future really...!!
Thanks x

i had an episiotomy with DD but my stitches came undone! =[ This time i ended up having a 2nd degree tear in the same place. But thats because when your stitches come undone instead of the muscel growing it just grows tissue/skin between the cut so its quite weak. and that was 20mths between births. Im sure ul be fine, even if you do tear it wont be as bad as the first time! x

I also had a tear and according to sis in law who also tore with her first and then again with her second it's pretty common to tear again.

I'm not looking forward to this next time round as still not completely healed and it's been over 2 months.

I had 3rd degree tear as well, and was told at my 12 week check up by the physio that I'd possibly be looking at an elective c section if I have any more children. Was a bit shocked to say the least as it hadn't even crossed my mind. However, she did also say that often women are fine, and it depends on whether you've any residual problems afterwards as to what course of action to take.
