Still bleeding - poss TMI

Ryan is 6 weeks old now (have my post-natal check next monday) and I'm still bleeding - the bleeding reduced quite quickly in the first week after giving birth but has just continued at a low level since then. It isn't constant but generally occurrs after feeds or a long walk and is still pretty dark red but no odour or pelvic pain etc. It is just really starting to annoy me now!

I was just wondering if anyone else has gone 6 weeks before it stopped, or could I have gone straight from lochia to my period despite exsclusively BF? Also I was wondering if it would be ok to stop wearing towels and go back to my mooncup or to use tampons so I can feel a bit more normal while I wait for it to stop.

my sister bled at a low level for 10 weeks, then had 2 weeks where she was fine, then got her period. She was pretty peeved, lol. As for the other questions, I'm not sure, but didn't want to read & run...

Yeah its quite normal to still be bleeding at 6 weeks. This is why at your 6 week checks your doc wont do a smear if you are due one coz the results can come back unclear so they leave that till 12 weeks now.

I bled for about 7 weeks, HV told me it can prolong things if you overdo it, so try to rest up when you can (not easy with a new baby I know!) She explained that where the placenta comes away is quite a large wound and if you had one like that on the outside youds remember to take it easy but because u can't see it you forget x
