How long did you bleed after birth? Or more specifically after a section?

I had a section 4 weeks ago and although the bleeding (lochia) has eased massively I still get odd bits during feeding, is this normal? Or should I speak to MW?

I bled for the 1st 10 to 14days, i was expressing up until wk 5 and yeah i would sometimes get crampy and little bits of blood during that. Also found that the bleeding came back if i did too much.

If your worried worth a mention to the doc or HV

Thanks.... It has definately eased up - and eased around the 14 day mark... I just assumed it would have stopped by now!!

I am seeing MW on Monday for finaly check so will mention it then!

I mostly stopped bleeding at about 5 ish weeks but if I get really stressed or do something heavy I will bleed a little now.

Hey Kathryn, I had an emergency c-section 5 weeks ago and still bleeding It seemed to ease up at about 3 weeks but it's back heavy again now (sorry, TMI I know!).
Am going to ask the doctor about it at our 8 week check if it's still there then.

Sounds like what mine is like... has eased.. but I though bleeding was only meant to last for around 2 weeks.... Couldn't work out whether the section had made any difference!

I wasn't sure either...I was thinking today that it might be the start of my period, but I don't have any period pains...???
