I had 3wks worth of pain where I had to take painkillers every 4hrs on the hour.

A few more weeks after that it'd really hurt in the morning, especially when trying to sit up from a lying down position.

I couldn't walk properly for a few months and standing up straight was quite difficult for a while.

It was a good few months before there wasn't any discomfort or pain in normal everyday things.

I had a c-section 13 months ago. I too got an infection beacuse I didn't rest enough and tried to do everything too quickly.

Mine is fine now.

It took a little while to heal 100% but when it did it was fine. You have had a major op. Give yourself time and take it easy.

Im now preg again and every now and again I get a few pains but nothing to complain about.

Good luck with it.

For me, the first 8 weeks were hard - could barely walk or move and everything irritated it - and I didn't have an infection! I found that once I could touch the scar, it helped to rub polysporin cream onto it (now I use bio oil). It still hurts, but only where the incision crosses a stretchmark IYKWIM.

The worst part so far is the numbness in my tummy and on the top of my butt - it is numb/itchy and feels weird!

Good luck and take care - remember, they cut a lot of tissue and muscle and it will take a loong while to heal fully!

I recovered amazingly quickly this time, pain free and driving 2 weeks later. Kind of helped by her being in special care and me having to walk a huge corridor several times a day. Bit of discomfort if I had pushed myself but nothing I could say was bad.

With DS2 (em c section) it took 6 weeks to be pain free and for me to even get out of bed without pain.

Keep taking the pain killers, especially the anti-inflammatories, rest as much as you can, keep good posture and don't over do things.

I was in loads of pain and on painkillers for at least 7 weeks and i did not have an infection to contend with like you. I seemed to suffer a lot more than friends who had a c sect but think i got pulled about a lot as they were in a rush to get the babe out.

I still have sore days 13 weeks on.

fingers crossed you start to feel better really soon

I had 2 c-sections and the 1st was perfect. Less of pain etc. The 2nd one was horrible. I took 1,5 months to recover. I was infected and my scar was bleeding for 2 weeks, there was a haematoma under my skin, my tummy was so bruised OMG I have never ever felt so horrible. But my baby boy worth it

I felt terrible for a couple of weeks. It was week 4 before I felt anywhere near approaching normal. But even now, 5 months later, I still feel a bit squidgy!

17 Days is very early to be concerned. It is major surgery you've had!!
