Nurofen double express worked wonders for me.

Pour some warm water down there after you've been to the toilet.

Baths with salt [I used sea salt]

Lavender and milk in the baths also helped ease my soreness.

I also used savalon on mine as mine got really tight.

Good luck recovering and well done on your new baby

Oh also when you do go to the toilet, I found holding toilet paper / a clean cloth on the stitches really eased my pain as I went to the toilet

My midwife advised me to have baths with a little tea tree oil in them. And I kept topped up with nurofen until the soreness eased. Hope you feel more comfortable soon, I'm sure you will.

Kept up the paracetamol every 4 hours for at least 2-3 weeks,
Used a few drops of tea tree oil in otherwise plain water in the bath each night (it's supposed to have antiseptic properties)
Leaned forward on the loo as far as possible to stop any stinging.

I was very lucky, my episiotomy got stiched up in theatre by a senior registrar so he did a pretty good job.

Still don't feel completely 'normal' today (a bit numb) but managed to go skiing 8 weeks after the birth. (only for a few hours a day before the stiched ached due to the cold!!)
