Im a natural blonde so have fairly thin hair anyway, and never really noticed that it got thicker during pregnancy, but is coming out in bucketfulls. I feel like I'm gonna be bald soon. I have a shower and when I'm massaging shampoo in I get handfuls of my hair and the plug needs unblocking. My hairdresser said it can carry on until they are about 12 months old but although not proven, a few people have said that taking seaweed tablets from the health food shop helps slow it down. I'm gonna get some and give it a go before I go bald

Mine started to fall out when LO reached 4months and my hairdresser said it would go back to normal once she's around 9months.

I'm not sure if she meant that's how long it takes for hormones to go down or it will be 9months because mine didnt start falling out until 4months iykwim?

Mine did until around 6/7 months, apparently the norm is for it to last for up to 6 months but some people can have it for up to a year

Mine was pretty bad too i could run my hands through my hair and there would be tons of hair all tangled in my hands, really upset me

This has happened to me three times now
This time with Joshua it only started when he was 4 months old(last month) and its coming out in handfuls and I am having major panics (again) about waking up bald one morning.

I am going to go get it cut next week shorter and have a volume type cut so it looks fuller until it stops.

With my first son it didn't stop until he was 9 months old.

I spoke to my HV about it today and she told me to make an appointment with my doctor, as after having a baby you can be deficient in nutrients. I had a section and lost 1.2L of blood, was given iron tablets to take (which I forgot about and left in a drawer, oops) - I looked it up and iron deficiency can cause significant hair loss. I 've started taking the tablets and have an appointment with my doctor next week. Also she said that after having a baby, your thyroid can be a problem ... worth getting these things checked out I think. Hopefully it will be something they can at least slow down, I'm losing hair at a scary rate ....
