Tampons

Not sure if this is still classed as the post natal period, but ho hum!

I am having my first proper priod, since I had Oliver, 11 months ago. It is really, really heavy and just as painful. But I expected that. My problem is, that I tried to use a tampon last night and my God, the pain! It hurt like hell when it was in and when I tried to take it out and was like pulling broken glass out. Although it is 11 months since my 3rd degree tear, it is only 3 months since I had the tear revised.

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem with tampons?

do you use applicators? It shouldnt hurt if you have it far enough in. Although I know the feeling of taking it out too early while its still dry... yikes! My first period after Jasmine was ridiculously heave too, and the was 6 weeks PP!!

I had this hun when i first used them after having paddy i used super absorbancy as thats what i had always used and omg i nearly had to tie it to the door handle and slam the door! I would try using the lowest absorbancy you can get away with so there isnt much chance of you pulling out whilst its dry hun x

I'm curious nemo and bump ....
Have you actually tried to use them? Its just that my uterus was always anteverted before I got pregnant the first time (according to the early pregnancy scan at <8 weeks) and when I had a bleed this time at 8 weeks, the sonographer asked if I knew that I had a retroverted uterus!

It must have flipped like yours. But, I have been using tampons for the 5 months that I did have periods inbetween my pregnancies and no-period time - with no problem.

Just wondered thats all - if you were told not to, or you just couldn't.
