Prolapse?

Hey, I was wondering if anyone had any experience of uterine prolapse. Basically I had a look in the mirror at things down there and between my vagina and where I pee from I have an extra hole! My vagina is still an opening, as in, there's nothing falling out or blocking it. It looks like my vaginal wall has folded out and has a hole in it but I'm thinking this hole is more likely my cervix. I've had a google and I'm not freaking out or anything because I know it's not life threatening, and I'm not in any pain or discomfort. I don't even have a 'heavy' feeling but I can't think what else this hole is. I'm going to ring the dr today but it normally takes a week to get an appointment. Can a prolapse happen later on? I've been quite constipated recently so straining a bit, could this have caused it? I was examined and scanned a week pp and it was fine then but I'm now 11 weeks, could a prolapse happen this far along? Although I suppose I don't know when it happened as I didn't know til I looked

Hi hon I have a prolapse which developed at about 14-15 weeks so it can take a while to start up. I'm not sure about the hold though. I had a heavy feeling and then noticed a bulging which seems to be a pretty common symptom so not sure what this is for you. Definitely get yourself a doc appointment though just to be checked out

Thanks I couldn't get an appt til 6th October but like I said, it's not causing me any grief. I'll keep up my pelvic floors and ease off on the exercise just in case.

Well I put a finger in my vagina and it's definitely 'blocked' so I think it is my cervix hanging out, lovely. Will I be OK until Oct 6th? I guess I don't know how long it was there for already, lol. How do they fix it?

I would ring again and ask for an emergency appointment. I wouldn't leave something like that just in case. Better to be safe than sorry but I'm sure these things are commom and easily sorted. x

if you think it is a prolapse then i personally would take your self off down to a+e.
Prolapses can become infected then causing other problems.
In veternary medicine we treat prolapses as an emergency, so i would think it would be the same in humans too. Get checked out.

Yeah I bent over earlier and it was uncomfy so I'm going to ring the dr first thing and get an emergency appt as it's just bugging at the back of my mind and then they'll be able to refer me to the hospital if needs be. Our A&E is a 2hour 2bus journey away so it's a bit tricky with LO. My rat died from a uterine prolapse last Christmas ironically enough! Thanks ladies xx

They're seeing me at 11.40, just got to kill time until then lol. Had some bleeding this morning so that probably explains the pain, it never occurred to me how a period might feel with my womb where it is.

I'm fine!! I'm just a rubbish healer. I'm all swollen and stuff still and the pains are from some scar tissue. The hole and tube? My urethra!? That completely threw me as I though I urinated elsewhere, lmao, God knows what's going on but she seemed happy with everything and said apart from the swelling and the urethra also being swollen everything is fine and should fix itself and the bleeding must be my first period. I guess postnatal recovery just takes longer for some people.
