Really embarrassing - prolapse?

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of prolapse? I've just finished my first period since the birth and have today noticed a feeling as though (sorry tmi!) there is still a tampon there even though there isn't. On having a bit of a feel around, there is definitely something there which wasn't there before and DH says he can see something dark red / wine in colour... I'm not in any pain but wondered if it might be a prolapse or something. I haven't been as good with my pelvic floor exercises as I should have been, not been experiencing incontinence or anything.

Is it just a case of getting going with the exercises or do I need to go to the doc (I really don't want to!:

Thanks

I had a like flap type thing, and could tell it was there, went and got checked out and had it removed within a couple of weeks.

I would personally get it checked out.

im not too sure. i think your best going to the doctors just to get checked. it may seem embarrasing but its better to get checked.

i get the tampon feeling sometimes, and also a heavy feeling down there but it can only last a few mins and it is only every now and then.

Thanks ladies. I was getting that tampon feeling on and off all day yesterday and it was when the feeling was there that we could feel / see something. The feeling is gone again this morning and so is whatever was there last night. Wondering if it could just be from having done too much and not doing the pelvic floor exercises. I might just keep an eye on it over the next couple of days and see if it goes away if I start the exercises properly now. From the look of it, I'd need to time the doc appointment carefully for when there's actually something there or they'd think I was mad! This is what I get for laziness I guess

Would love to hear any similar experiences though!
