Saggy tummies after baby!

HI girls

I gave birth 9 days ago (spinal, episiotomy and forceps delivery) and my tummy is so saggy and I also still look like I have a baby bump!

How long does it take for the swelling/ belly to go away. I know trhat I can't exercise for another few weeks xx

didn't want to read and run... but my bump went as soon as I gave birth! And I fit into my 'fat jeans' within two days.
However I still don't fit back into my normal prepregnancy jeans 6 weeks on!

I had the same delivery as you! Not very nice at all. To be honest I haven't done much since wee one was born and belly did go down a bit by itself.

I waited until 6 week check before dieting to do a bit more.

Don't worry, your stomach will go down - although you probably will have a certain amount of sagginess for a good few months yet, so don't put too much pressure on yourself. Only a few lucky ones find that their stomachs resemble their pre-pregnancy selves. Breastfeeding can help the uterus contract as well, to help reduce the 'baby bump' look post-pregnancy.

I had a very similar delivery to you - nearly 30 hours active labour, epidural, episiotomy, forceps and a near 3rd degree tear. I found that my belly went down quite quickly due to breast feeding but a certain amount of sagginess remained for about six months (even though I lost the weight). I still have a small bit of a belly just now, but it has tightened up a lot. I am going to go to the gym to try and flatten it as much as possible over the next few months, although I am not sure I can achieve the pre-pregnancy belly again - I did deliver a baby that weighed nearly 10 pounds though - so I have the spaghetti junction of stretchmarks on my tummy!

Don't worry too much about fitting into those skinny jeans jut yet, just enjoy having your new born and trying to get some much needed rest when you can.

Congratulations on the birth of your little boy.

xxx

My labour/delivery sounds exactly like yours - nearly 10 weeks on I still have a saggy belly but to be honest it wasnt' the best belly before I got pregnant

I have been thinking about starting to exercise but haven't found the time yet! Don't worry about it too much, your body has just done an amazing thing of growing and delivering a perfect little human being So go easy on yourself and you will be back to normal (or as close as) soon enough.

Enjoy your baby boy

I had exactly the same as you. I was back in my pre pregnancy jeans in 2 weeks but still have a have a little wobbly belly where skin has not shrunk back (baby is 8 weeks now).

I do still have bladder incontinence issues which gp is said to be expected considering what we had to have done but i am finding that worse.

I'm still poochy, but I think it's just some of the weight I gained through out pregnancy (I gained 60 pounds)
