How do u cope????

ok,this is going to sound really pathetic of me and i apologise in advance

I had my little boy on sunday morning,he weighed 8lbs 8oz and i had a very easy labour( 4 hours)

The best thing was,i got away with no tears/cuts/stitches!

However,i did get some labial grazes...doesnt sound like a big deal i know...

So my problem is...it still hurts/stings sooooo much when i pee! to the point where i want to cry!

The reason i think this is pathetic of me is bcos i know some of you ladies have had stitches etc which is obviously much worse

Can any1 suggest something i can do to stop the pain when i pee?

thankyou xxx

Have you tried pouring water on yourself while urinating? It can easy the stinging if you pour water - either from a jug or with a shower attachment.

Drink loads and loads and loads of water - you go and pee more, but when you do go it is so diluted that you barely feel a thing. xxx

This is what I did; I only had a 3 hour labour, Adrian was 6 lbs, 15 oz, and i had ONE labial graze on the left side, which caused that side to swell and sting a lot.

Also, the nurse gave me a water bottle for "perinial cleansing"; I found that if I used this each time I went, it didnt sting as bad either.

yeah I had a tiny graze but did the drinking loads and loads of water thing. Before I realised that would help, I did the same breathing exercises I used to manage labour pains, lol!

might ound a bit mingin, but if you have a wee just as you're about to get out the bath it shouldnt be as bad cos you're all surrounded in water already! i had problems going for a number 2 after katie, and i really found that the breathing you do in labour helps too! that and grabbing the sink on one side and the wall on the other
