c-sec scar has popped :(

Noticed spot of blood on pj's last night and got 2 x 1/2cm holes in the middle. Panicked and went to A and E but couldnt wait the 2 hours, so off to the doctors this morning.
Feel like poop, feel like I'm never going to recover from this
It was hurting peeing yesterday and even having a bit wind kills.
When does it get better?

(On an awwww note, my cat came and sat beside lo on my knee, licked her leg then her hair very gently then jumped down so i think they are friends )

Im having the same issue. I went to the dr three weeks ago and he said it was on the very outside layers of skin, like a brush burn. He put a band aid on it and sent me on my way. I think because I'm not too skinny and I have a "flap" of skin, the incision stays moist. I've been trying to keep mine dry.
It probably looks worse than it is. Just keep a close watch on your temp. If you're not running a fever you're probably ok.

I had issues with my c-sec scar, first it opened up to allow "dead" blood to escape and as this was healng another part opened up I would strongly recommend seeing your Dr or Surgery Nurse ASAP as they will advise you of the best plan of action. I had mine regulary dressed by the nurse to keep it clean and also to keep an eye out for infection. Do not have a bath, shower as the water runs over. If it bleeds, use freshly bolied water to clean it (this is the advice I was given) A few of us had this happen to us, you are not alone x x

Question for c section ladies who have had an infection????

thanks guys
I saw the district nurse and she swabbed it and i've to go back friday - she gave me some gauze patches to tuck in my knicks and said not to use soap on it, just water and shower, or in my case, standy up washes as dont have a shower.

took gauze out when got home and it had been weeping and hubby smelled it and said it might be infected

I also have thne apron thing going on so its impossible in this heat to not let it get a bit sweaty. Made him smell cotton wool from wiping non open bit and that didnt smell so looks like i might have an infection - i give him all the good jobs but i cant see!

Also worried about the lochia as its yellow and pale now so worried i am all infected.

thanks for pointing me to a thread about it ellismum

Looks like I am ok re the lochia at least! I swear I am going to be a nervous wreck with all these changes.

Finally during 7-10 days postpartum, the lochia becomes pale yellow-white and is even in a more decreased amount. This is called lochia alba and may continue for 2-3 more weeks. The recurrence to bright red bleeding after progression to either lochia serosa or lochia alba may be a sign of infection or delayed hemorrhage.

Hi hun.. PM me if you need anything, I had a rather umm.. lengthy.. ordeal with all this. I had a womb infection and my incision opened, had a large abcess beneath it and that has taken almost 4 months to heal already, it's not quite there yet, but within a week or so I expect it to be closed up!

Hi, my section popped as well, i have an overhang and dp was changing the dressing daily for me, bless him and 8 days after having my section he lifted the overhang to inform me that i was oozing.

I called delivery suite, they said it pops for a reason and its ok as long as the stiches are intact.

After it popped all this stuff stuff came out call slough (sluf) its not an infection its just a build up of God only knows, but over all it took me the full 6 weeks to recover. The district nurse came out every day for 4 weeks to change the dressing and keep an eye on the wound and check for signs of an infection.

Just to say she left me loads of dressings if you want them and wound cream and AquacellAG (google it), the dressings are lovely and long and the AG stuff has silver in it to promote healing. Also some Inadine which draws out the sluf and helps heal.

There was no pain but the wound took forever to close.

It does get better i promise, get as much air to it as poss, and dont over do it as this makes the recovery process longer.

LOads of

V xxxx
