Lochia/period

The last couple of days i've been bleeding red, its not heavy at all though. I have cramps in my stomach aswel. I'm wondering if this could be my period? Does there have to be a gap between lochia and your first period?

I really should have asked these questions to the MW, i didn't think at the time!

My lochia stopped for about a week and then I had light bleeding for a few days with stomach cramps like AF but it didn't really come to anything.

A couple of weeks later I had my first period.

Not sure what it was, but it wasn't AF the first time round. As far as I can gather, lochia can stop and start for a while
