periods and contraception?

hey girls... i heard tyht i need to start taking contraception pills on first day of my period.. but i am not sure when to take it and when my period will start. my lil girl is 4 weeks now... anyone has some advice?

My dr told me this too - wait till your first period arrives (who knows when this will be) and then start your pills on the first day of af but I thought you ov before your period (normally around 2 weeks) so if you are bding you could get pregnant before your first period comes???

So I might start my pills soon (lo is 4 weeks old) to allow for them to kick in etc etc - still too ouchy to bd lol. Be interesting to see what everyone else is doing/thinks.
