baby acne

Hi all, zach has developed quite bad baby acne. Ive read up about it and although most people say to just to rinse with water, i have read a few articles about using sudocrem on the ones that are really flared up. has anyone tried this?

thanx

sebastian had it for about a week and a half, i think i used sudocrem twice - i was told bt hv that you can use it, just be carefull around eyes and mouth.

i found the sudocreme got a bit cloggy on patches of dry skin though.

I don't know if it's baby acne that Euan has - doc said it was a touch of eczema! But I've been using sudocrem most days or a little drop of olive oil. The sudocrem really does take the redness away and make it look a lot calmer. I just put a tiny drop on and rub it into his cheeks making sure I don't go anywhere near his eyes or mouth. He doesn't seem to mind it too much at all!

I was told just to leave it and it would clear up on its own - and it did with Elyse before she was 2 months old.

I found diaper cream took the redness away though and if she cried a lot it really flared up and got worse.

It's usually caused by hormones from your body that are still with the baby and can last up to 6 months though.

Noah has baby eczema, I treat it by washing all effected areas every morning with water and oilatum, got prescribed it, but you can also buy it in shops. Then if its red and rashy, but not dry I use sudocream. But sudocream will dry out the skin and make them very flakey. So once the rash goes down and starts going flakey I use E45 cream. He also has a bath every nite in the oilatum and then is creamed all over with E45 cream. Noah looked truly awful a week ago, he was covered in spots and red rashy patches as well as flakes and thickening all over his face and neck. Now it has nearly gone, but the rash does flare up in the heat. I dunno if that will help, but thought i'd say wat worked for us xxx

For baby acne my midwife recommended rubbing my breast milk on the spots. I also read this in an article and it worked so well. The spots cleared up very quickly.

My LO currently has a cradle cap and a bit of excema. I bought this from sooth-me and his excema has really cleared up and his cradle cap is coming away too.

I dont use any other things on his skin (not even wet wipes when changing him). I just bath him in plain water or i drop some of the oil from the website in the bath. I then rub the oild first on his bad skin then the nappy/body cream. I use a tiny bit of shampoo only once or twice a week. I make sure to moisturise his skin at least 3 times a day.

hi darling

my dr and health visitor both said to just wash his face evey day with water and that's it. They said it was due to hormones - like the other girls said to and will go away on it's own in q few months.

Miles had it really bad - all over head and scalp ... But every day I can see it clears up a bit more

xxx
