Circumcision- Necessary or Not?

I am not sure what I am having but in the event that I have a boy my doc told me to think about whether or not I would want him circumcised. My family is all women so this is not exactly a topic I have come across before. I hear a lot of pros and cons when it comes to circumcision...so I'm quite confused. If it's not too personal, anyone care to share their thoughts behind it?

I would also like to know the pros and cons. My mother has been trying to talk me out of it.

AG is right it doesn't seem to be common practise in UK
Personally i wouldn't have it done to Jack unless there was a medical reason for it

as AG said its not overly common in the UK, I don't know anyone personally who has had this done, i have read things about men feeling embarassed about having had it done when they reach sexual maturity tho

See, in the states, men are embarassed about not having it done when they reach sexual maturity. I haven't met one here that hasn't had it done

Well at least I will be prepared now if I ever go over to the UK and meet up with someone (obviously I would be single)
