high blood pressure

my blood pressure was high in the last 2 months of my pregnancy and i had to stay in hospital for a while.
now, it still hasnt gone back down to what it should be.
i have a home blood pressure monitor and i check it daily. its been around 140/80ish and last night when i checked it it was 142/98.
when i saw the doctor about it a few weeks back he told me to come off the bp tablets but because its still high ive gone back on them as ive been getting really bad headaches and blurred vision i have a docs appointment booked for tomorrow.
does anyone else hav high blood pressure?
xx

Yes i do!

I had hypertension pre pregnancy and just before going into labour it was well above 100 (bottom figure) and was also sent to hospital because of it.

Alfie is just over a week old and its still over 100 and am being monitored constantly for it.

Not sure what they are gonna do but just wanted to say I am in the same boat!

I cant believe your doctor isn't sending you to hospital and telling you to come off the tablets. I had blood pressure that high in the last few weeks of my pregnancy and I was hospitalised so they could monitor me. It has taken 3 months to go back to normal but I had to be checked every week at the doctor and I have only just come off my tablets. I would go back and really push for them to do something it doesn't sound as though you are getting the proper care you need. If you are feeling lighthead and dizzy it is really not good and can be dangerous. xx

I would keep pestering to ensure they monitor you as its need keeping an eye on. I would tell them you feel it needs monitoring - I doubt they'll refuse my dr and mw have been right on the ball with it (mw visited daily to check me) - hope yours are too.

I am in the high blood pressure camp too and my consultant told me we would wean me off the tablets, but the prescription I have got is for the same amount.
I want to come off them as when I test at my mums it is near normal for me.
