Buttonhole tear on labia

I've not posted on here before but have been lurking and reading all your posts.

I have a beautiful son who is 5 weeks old now and I love him to pieces. But he did cause some damage when he was born. All of my stitches have now healed but I have a buttonhole tear on my labia. I was concerned about it not healing and went to the doctors about it and got referred back to the hospital where the person who stitched me up checked out all my stitches. He reckoned the hole would take up to 6 weeks to heal up, but 2 weeks further on and it is still there and has gotten no smaller. I really want it to close up as it collects wee and I don't want to smell.

I would rather get the problem sorted out sooner rather than later cos I don't want to be fully healed and then go through the pain of stitches again when I should be taking my little one to baby groups.

Has anyone else had any experience of this, or do you have any advice?

You could try sitz baths with epson or sea salt. They are natural and will help you heal. They will also not cause an infection.

Try patting your gential area dry after using the bathroom, instead of wiping.
Keep yourself as dry as possible down there, which will also help you heal.

Other than that hun, I don't know what else to tell you.
