Postpartum AF

I know this is a TMI question, but what was your first period like? I thought I may have been getting one before, but it never turned up.

Ok, this is the TMI bit....

I was standing up and felt a huge gush, went to the toilet and there was blood everywhere. I mean it was like pouring out - though I realise it always looks more than it is. I thought I'd actually thought I'd wet myself

I'm now feeling very sick and light headed. Thing is though, I don't have any cramps and had no sign of spotting or anything before this, just a huge gush of blood.

Is it normal?

My periods have gotten considerably worse since birth. I never had heavy bleeding nor cramps before but now....it's horrible. I get the exact bleeding you described, cramping and all that jazz.

Yes, my first period came 2 1/2 months after having Lola and it was very heavy and I was white as a sheet and dizzy. I recently started birth control so it seemed to have calmed down, but your breastfeeding so it probably isn't an option for you?

mine was exactly like that RAFwife. It was the worst period ever. Clots were huge, i kept flooding pads, going through to my clothes. This went on for nearly 2 weeks, and i was exhausted. Think i was verging on anaemic. Went to docs in the end and was put on some tablets to stop it.

My first one was horrible, I would gush everytime I stood up, it made me feel really sick, but you have to remember you have probably had a bit of a fright seeing that much blood so the fright and panic can make you feel light headed and sick. Mine was so bad I had to have meds to stop the flow because I was losing so much. XX hope you feel better soon

I had to go back to using my maternity pads I bought for the initial post partum bleeding. Couldn't believe how heavy it was! I certainly hope it doesn't stay like this!
