Soph. Hope you're feeling a bit better this morning. You're doing a grand job chick.

This thread is so much easier to catch up on than the old one - none of us have time to post so much these days.

Best go, Harvey's just started bawling.

Happy 4 weeks Summer! Not sure how you tell if it is a real smile, Jenna did her first one at 5 weeks if I remember, if you were encouraging her I am sure it was a real one!

MW had signed me off today so will see the hv next week some time, Myles has regained 5 oz in 6 days which she says is really good so I am so happy my BF must be working well

Hope everyone is ok today

ha ha i love the way we all come on do a quick post...and at the end of it we write....oo have to go 'baby' is crying/waking up

Soph...they say babies do their first proper smiles at 4 weeks. But my auntie disagrees n say they do from birth coz when people say they do 'wind' smiles she says no....u can tell if its a proper smile, coz they smile with their eyes too.

brill news about the 5oz GCL!! ur doing a brill job BF

am i the only one with no HV yet?? i swear people r just too busy at this end...i have to go down to the clinic again tomorrow instead of her visiting me. plus...shes off too so im seing a MW who isnt even from this area!

Soph maybe she has wind if shes going long inbetween feeds.....i know they say not to wake baby up...but my SIL (MW) said u have to wake them up at some point because if they dont feed they get wind and their blood sugar drops. she said 6 hours is too long to leave them between feeds. maybe try waking her up every 3 hours for a feed n burping her?

Well done on the 5oz Myles! Sounds like you're doing grand with the bf GCL.

Happy 4 weeks Summer!

MB, glad Levi's been a bit better today.

The mw at the hospital told me not to leave Harvey more than 5-6 hours between feeds. Like I've had that option though - he's feeding soooo often!

I just opened a box of Celebrations my gran gave me and there was about 5 Cadbury's Roses in thetop of the box. My gran's a bit funny sometimes...

Harvey has been really good today. He's been pretty contented and not too clingy.

A couple of hours ago I got really sore pains in my bum and vajayjay area. They came in waves and were like really bad pressure pushing down on them. I felt like my insides were going to fall out! I took a couple of paracetamol and they've eased off now. Has anybody else had that or know what it might be? HV is coming tomorrow so I might ask her about it. I'm looking forward to finding out how much weight Hrvey has put on.

Hey guys, I finally made it over! Had a lovely day, two friends visited, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, with the hv in between! And apart from being a bit grizzly first thing, Eve slept through it all, pretty much! My friend Pip, who never wants kids, even held her and said she'd enjoyed it (amazing if you know her)!

Things have been going quite well, though there is always a period of her being a bit unsettled (about 3 hours ish) most days at the moment - I think it's normal (is it?!) and am finding I still get enough rest, thank god.

Si is having a cuddle with her at the moment, so I've got some time to myself - waiting for Tesco delivery to arrive - life doesn't get much more exciting these days!

Kiddo, I've had similar, but poss not as strong pains - not sure what they are but I was told that infection would smell really bad. I've had lots of gushes of bleeding which worried me a lot, and lots of tenderness, but was told not to worry unless clots were bigger than a kiwi fruit (?!) and unless pain didn't go away with paracetamol.

Soph, how do you take a passport photo? Does she sit on your lap and you then hide out of the way behind the curtain or something...? I'm sure Jay wouldn't do anything stupid - apart from anthing else, tbh he sounds too selfish to want to spend all his time looking after her...

JJ - did your pram arrive in the end? Any tips for bf in the sling? I stil haven't tried mine. Have been to the bf cafe again and going to one of the girl's houses next week, so a social breakthrough has been made!

BF sounds really successful, Gcl, hope you're feeling proud!

Nutty, I was discharged by mw last Tuesday and only got a call from hv on Friday (even through she said they do try to overlap their care) - she came today. So I wouldn't worry too much - my mw told me to call her if I hadn't heard from the hv 10 days after I'd been discharged by her.

MB - sounds like you are making lots of time to have fun with Levi - I don't know how you manage it - it's enough for me to stay awake with just the one!

Hope everyone's doing ok.
