Errr....dunno actually its not something I ever had to ask about! I assume it has something to do with the changes in milk later on but honestly I dont know I just remember it being that they had to be under 6 months when you started!
Maybe Femme knows???

It's a funny one really, something I don't understand much and the milk bank I donate to aren't entirely sure but follow the guidelines. I was waiting, hoping Squish would know.

Anyway, BM changes and matures at 6 months which leads me to assume that the milk keeps on going to the same babies. Otherwise, I can see no biological reasons.
