Back from apmt at recurrent mc clinic

had my apmt at the recurrent mc clinic today. I feel blessed that i was referred to it as i have not had 3 mc's but i suppose maybe my age had something to do with it.

The nurse was lovely, she has an MBE (Member of British Empire, rewarded by the Queen for outstanding service in the recipients field of expertise) for christ sake, so she must be good. She is also going off with retirement in March so im lucky i got to see her.

She went through the entire medical history of me and oh. My pg's, what happened and any illnesses i or oh did have (as it happened not much)

She said that my history points to a blood clotting problem as both my babies died at 6 weeks and that it does indicate its not a genetic problem.

Im having blood tests for 2 different anti bodies, my thyroid, liver and kidneys checked including all my blood levels for folic acid, iron and b 12.

If they all come back negative we we will have genetic testing done (karyo typing).

I get back for the 20th feb to go through the tests results and set up a treatment plan. Im also told not to ttc as i would need treatment for any pg.

Im well chuffed and feel very blessed not only to have been offered this but to have been given such a knowledgeble nurse to work with.

Im very positive and feel i can at last have a healthy baby.

Life is good!!! LOL!!

, Omi xxx

that brillaint hunni but i dohave 2point out one thing she did get wrong.. saying because your baby died at same time ment it wasnt a genetic problem is wrong.. it can be blood problem or genetic.. all mine died at same gestation every time and mine is genetic, so she cant say that.
i hope they give you all the answers you need hunni.

Nice to hear you have good medical professionals working on your case. Mine is a piece of crap! I just got back from my follow-up and got NOTHING out of it basically! They took 11 tubes of blood, but about 5 tests were done wrong so it all needs to be redone. Then the endometrial biopsy they sent off to test for freaken CANCER! So the doctor goes "well we'll just have to ask the pathologists to reinterpret it in terms of fertility, no big deal", oh really? You're making me wait ANOTHER CYCLE to find out the correct results, sure, no big deal!!!

They are really pissing me off! So good thing that you have some dependable staff at your hospital!
