Periods after a m/c

Hello there,

I am now waiting on my 2nd period after my m/c but its not come and I am not pregnant as have taken lots of tests Has anyone else experienced irregular periods after their m/c?

Also, I just cannot shift the weight I put on. Has anyone else experienced this, if so, how long before it went.

xxx

I had a mc at the beginning of the year and I've had a couple of periods come early rather than late.

I put of half a stone when pregnant and have tried exercising and dieting with no effect. And it's nearly 8 months since I stopped being pregnant. Let me know if you work out how to lose it!

Hi Dona. After my first mc it did take a couple of cycles to AF to settle back down. Before that I was a 28 day girl, after things finally settled I was a 30-32 day girl. So give your body some time to sort that all out, and don't be afraid to call the doc or the nurse just to ask this type of question or if things don't settle. That's what they're there for.
As for the weight, my body handled calories much differently after my first mc. I don't know if it was just due to my getting older or the mc.... but it did take alot of work to shed the pounds and sorry to say everyone is different. It will take trial and error on your part. For me it seemed that cutting my carbs about in half helped alot. As soon as I did that I dropped 35lbs like nothing.
Don't give up hun. I think that sometimes we get so caught up in our bodies returning to 'normal' like before, we start to forget that normal can be a little different after mc or children and in some ways will never be the same.
Good luck to you.
P

Yeah I would like that - what do we do to become cycle buddies? I am normally about a 38 days cycles but they are all over the place at the moment.

Thanks to everyone for your comments. I start a bikini boot camp tomorrow and have employed a personal trainer. I will let you know how I get on!

Well I have only had my first af 13 days ago so I don't know about them being irregular yet but everyone I have spoken to has said the same thing. Mine were 23 days before, like clockwork so I hope they settle as short again as the 2ww is not for me, I ov at 15 days and then 8 days later my af arrived. Let's hope.

As for the weight I too gained half a stone and have found it so hard to drop off. My belly went down within days but the weight just won't shift. I have to try harder I think lol

I had a MMC in Jan and 6 months on my cycles are getting more irregular each month! I seem to be one of the unlucky ones as others I know who Mc'd around the same time are either pregnant again or have 26-28 day cycle.

I gained a stone after the MC through takeaways and alcohol and I'm really struggling to shift that and the other extra 2 stone. Guess I just have to try harder!

Hope your cycles return to normal soon and sorry for your loss.

Hi Dona,

Sorry for your loss

My first was bang on time, nothing out of the ordinary. My 2nd was late by 6 days, heavy and longer by 2 days. Try not to worry, your body needs time to re-adjust.

Good luck

Kerry

I thought it was just me that put on weight during the small amount of time i was pregnant(10 weeks) before miscarrying. It is soo hard to shift. I guess it makes me feel better that it isn't just me. Sorry to hear that there are others of you that are struggling aswell.

I remember saying to DH a few weeks ago, that it sucks that the only thing i got left with after the pregnancy was the weight. oh well, that's life i guess.

Good Luck Everyone.
xx
