I've been on here for a while, but don't really get much of a chance to post
Really need some advice, as I'm getting mixed messages from midwife and hospital...
I'm 8 weeks and 2 days pregnant.
I started spotting yesterday morning (just when I wipe) - It's a sort of red/brown colour. This started with period-pain type cramps the previous night (enough to wake me up a few times at night) and the pains continued most of yesterday. After my husband left for work at 8:30am ish I slept all the way through till 1:15pm!!! Was still spotting in the afternoon (same as the morning) and decided to call my midwife.
Midwife told me that she would book me in for a scan on Monday just to check what was happening, but didn't really fill me with a lot of hope.
Later in the afternoon I still wasn't feeling good, so decided to go to A&E with my husband. Doctor took some information and had a feel of my stomach. He reassured us that it could be perfectly normal, but that we wouldn't be sure until the scan on Monday. He did seem a lot more possitive and made me feel better about it. Said it could be the umbilical cord forming etc.
However, after feeling a little better last night, I could hardly sleep at all last night (couldn't get comfortable, was too hot and stomach hurt again). This morning I am still spotting as I was before and still have stomach cramps.
Is this normal? Or do you think I should prepare for the worst on Monday?
Im in belfast and u can just go to the maturnity and and tell them u are bleeding and then u have to wait(usually a few hrs) but they scan you. Is that not the way it works in mainland england?

I guess not... Midwife at maternity ward of local hospital told me the earliest I could get a scan was Monday (at another local hospital). So I visited the other hospital last night and they confirmed that this would be the earliest they could scan
Wish I could have just had a scan last night, would have put my mind at rest a lot more.
I have had bleeding everyday since 5 weeks, am now 11 weeks. I've had severe pain and and all kinds of bleeding including very heavy bleeding with large clots. On the days when the bleding has been at its worst i have felt very unwell, sick, light headed etc. I wish you the best of luck for monday, the not knowing is the worst. I was certain the worst had happened and was very shocked to see a heartbeat at our first scan and something that looked like a baby at our second. lots and lots of luck, i'm proof that early bleeding doesn't mean the end.
