I'm Currently Feeling: | Help - Missed Miscarriage Advice for the Dad Hi,
My partner had a missed miscarriage back in the autumn at 6 weeks. She is currently 8 weeks pregnant but her symptoms have disappeared just as they did when she miscarried before. Up until two days ago, she was experiencing sickness and sore breasts - now nothing. She is resigned to the fact that the same thing has happened again but I am trying to keep it positive until we know for sure. Her next scan is one week today but we should be able to bring it forward to one day early next week.
I'm wondering if her cessation of pregnancy symptoms automatically mean she has miscarried? Is it unheard of that symptoms just stop and the baby remains or am I fooling myself?

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi!
It is quite common for symptoms to come and go during early pregnancy. Like one day you will feel really sick and have extremely sore breasts and the for a few days you feel fine and start to worry... then the symptoms come back in full force. It is something to do with the fluctuating hormones.
If you are feeling worried, you should ask GP to see if you can move forward scan date.
Good luck, I hope things work out well for you.

Well, sure enough, the symptoms started again yesterday - and then stopped today! Also another awful reminder of last time is her chronic fatigue that has kicked in and replaced the sickness we have been clinging to as a good sign! It's so difficult! I'm sure everything is fine but as soon as something comes along that reminds us of last time then it immediately places doubt in our minds! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Good luck. I was paranoid about losing my symptoms when I thought I was miscarrying too. | | | | Status: Online

I'm Currently Feeling: | When i had my missed MC , i still had all the symptons. So just cos they have disappeared doesn t mean a missed MC.... she might find that they come back again next week.
try and bring the scan forward a couple of days ...just to put her mind at rest. | | | | Status: Offline
