Recurrent mc test help.

Hi, quick history.
Came off the pill in Dec 2008, got pg in Jan 2009. Mc at 6 weeks 16th Feb 2009. Started trying again straight away. Pg again end of June. Mmc discovered at 12 week scan 27th Aug 2009. Medical management of mmc at the hospital. Staff lovely, very helpful and kind, but couldn't refer me for tests until I've had 3 losses. I understand why, but the thought of having to lose another baby kills me. Shit 6 months!!!
Anyway, we've decided to get married and so I've had the implant put in, which I regret so much as I really want to try again, but can't afford a baby with the cost of a wedding to think about.
Went to doctors last week to ask for counselling as I'm not dealing with things very well and the doc says he will refer me to gynae for prelimenary tests. I'm really pleased as I'm hoping for some sort of magic cure and guarentee, which I know I won't get. But what can I hope for? And what should I expect? What are the tests like? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
TIA

Hi - I'm in a similar position with "just" 2 losses. If you search this board for "genetic testing" you'll find info on the various tests out there, but I've heard it said that MMC is often a hormonal issue. I'm planning to get tested for a clotting disorder b/c I did have clots in my first pregnancy and my father has a history of blood clots in his leg (there's a genetic test that can be done). The "miracle cure" for this involves baby aspirin and shots of heparin during pregnancy. I'm also going to ask about PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) since my mother was diagnosed with it; there are apparently treatment options, I think they involve taking progesterone. I'll also ask for a referral to an endocrinologist -- who knows what else they might find.

In the mean time, I also have decided to be more resolved about birth control again (I only had one period between miscarriages, and I really want to see if they can figure out if anything can be done before trying again!), and to lose a bit of weight - and I hope you focus on that wedding, congratulations!
