Herbal Remedies During Miscarriage

Hi again. So I supposedly have retained products, although the bulk of it has passed.

I know of (and have taken) herbal teas that bring on bleeding, and I stopped drinking the tea when the bleeding really got going (and I don't know if it really had an effect).

So now I am wondering about whether it is safe to continue using the tea now that I am not bleeding particularly heavily but apparently still have a lot of lining to shed. I will ask the doctor (although I know the profession is generally against anything taking you can't measuring exactly), but if anyone has some anecdotal info, I'd love to hear it.

Roseanne,

can you tell me what teas I shouldn't drink while pregnant?

I drink lots of different kinds of tea, and I'm hoping that I wasn't stupid enough to drink one that could have harmed me or brought on my bleeding when I miscarried? It's something I never dreamed of thinking about!

Thanks

there's a pretty good list at http://www.naturalark.com/herbpreg.html to start with. most normal herbal teas won't do much unless you take them in large quantities, so please don't kick yourself about what you did. Apparently, women who are "prone to miscarriage" (whatever that means) should avoid large amount of fresh parsley, as well as fresh basil (and the list goes on and on). But obviously millions of women go through pregnancy eating pesto, etc... There are lots of culinary herbs and spices that are ok in normal food use but taken in large amount can be problematic. Sorry I don't have time to be more specific right now -- feel free to ask more questions!

Thanks Roseanne, I've looked over the list and there isn't anything I'm partial to on it!
