I suffered a missed miscarriage back in January at 10 weeks and had to have a D&C on January 24th. It will be 6 weeks tomorrow since I had the D&C and so far there is no sign of AF making an appearance.

Just wondering how long it took others to get their AF after a Mis/D&C? It's so frustrating as we want to start TTC again but can't until AF comes and goes.

I think everyone is different. For me it took about 4 weeks - the length or a normal cycle but for some people I would imagin it takes 6 to 8 weeks. If at 8 weeks you've still not had anything you should probably see a doctor though to see if they can do anything.

Have you had your HCG levels checked? I know sometimes it can be delayed if your hcg hasn t returned to under 5?

I personally don't know myself, because i had Medical management and waiting for the rest to do naturally.

My hcg levels have returned to under 5 and when i went to my gnya on Monday for a scan she told me that i was just about to ovulate so if i don t wanna get pregnant wear protection and then i will menustrate in 2-3 weeks after my ovulation cycle.

I would go and see your doctor for a check.

I haven't had my HCG levels checked but I have done a few PG tests and they are all negative so I would presume if I still have levels of HCG in my sytem it would register on a PG test...right?

I was due to go to my Gyni this week for my 6 week post D&C check up but he is out sick for the next fortnight so that is mainly why I am feeling a little frustrated. I know my Gyni would prescribe me Provera to bring on my AF so I will just have to wait a further 2 weeks.

I got mine 5 weeks and 6 days later... So nearly 6 wks.

I was told it could take months for AF to come back. She actually returned 4 weeks to do the day of the start of my m/c.

If you are worried, you could go to your GP for reassurance.

What iw as told about og tests is that, they only pick after 25 , so hcg levels over that so if yours were showing 6.5 for example it probally wouldn t sure.

I only know that cos i called my gyni and was like yeah my hcg levels are down cos the pg test is negative and she said hold up and explained all that.

I understand your irratation cos it feels like a waiting game, is there not another doctor you can see? I like to stick to my own aswell but waiting two weeks is long.

But then again it does allow you two more weeks to wait and see.... Think about what you want i personally would try and see another gyni.

It took 4 weeks for mine to come. If your regular from beforehand then they say it usually goes back to normal quite quickly. I'm not sure about after a D&C though. I'm soz you have to wait so long to find out whats going on. Hopefully in the 2weeks you are waiting something will happen.

Mine took just under 6weeks return, I was told to go back to the docs if it didn't appear by 8 weeks.
