Pain during pregnancy after an ERPC?

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. I had an ERPC in August at 8wks (but the baby had apparently stopped growing at 6wks). It was quite painful afterwards particularly when going to the loo. I had a very heavy period at around 5 weeks. Since then I've had another normal period. They told me at the time of the ERPC to wait until this month to try again. We have done so and I would be due to come on in 4 days time. But for the last week or so I have been having abdominal pain and tenderness similar to how I was after the ERPC. I'm wondering if I'm pregnant but that I feel this way because things are still tender down there. I thought I'd fully recovered from the op. Has anyone else had this? I don't tend to get sickness feelings in the last few times I've been pregnant (miscarried both though). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Shez

Hi, thanks for your reply! Sorry you're feeling crappy. I thought trying for a baby was all supposed to be fun! Yes have thought about testing but still think it's too soon as I'm not even due to come on until next week. Also, trying not to get my hopes up, so keep thinking this discomfort must be due to something else. If it is a baby, I'm scared of loosing it again especially as I feel so tender down there at the moment

Hi ya, your welcome hun. I do feel so so crappy. I am meant to go back to work tomorrow and i cant face it I thought trying for a baby was fun too but proving otherwise thinking of you hun. I know what you mean about not testing now but if you were to get a first response one they pick up 6 days before your due so you might still get a result. However sometimes its not worth it as it will make it worse if you get a negative. I know what you mean hun about being scared. I am too. I really hope you get the result you want hun and you get your sticky bean xxxxxxx

Ah...having to face going back to work is the worst feeling, but it does get easier after the first few days. It was really hard when I went back as I'd made the mistake of telling people too soon that I was pregnant, so was hard to have to face them. Apart from that it was hard as my boss showed hardly any sympathy and expected me to just get on with things full speed as I had before (my boss is a man - just think he didn't know how to deal with it!). Had been feeling down about other things at work before the miscarrage and was just looking forward to having a baby and focussing on that! instead it was back to the grindstone . What actually helped me get through the loss was just getting my head down, focussing on work, going to the gym & getting fit, and weekends...! You have to have something else to look forward. Luckily we had a holiday planned which was 1 week after the ERPC which really helped me. Could you maybe do some of these things?? Good luck tomorrow xx

Hi, I read your other posts. I really don't think you should be going back to work tomorrow, it is just too soon. Sod work and people there who are unsympathetic. At the end of the day work is just that...work! Take a few more days to gather your thoughts and feelings. You're entitled to all the time off that you need and work can't do anything about that! I hope you will take my advice...you need more time xx
