I had an early scan today with an unhappy ending

I had an early scan today. I should have been nine weeks and four days but I had a missed miscarriage at about six weeks. I had an abdominal scan and a vaginal scan and the sonographer showed me the sac and there was a 6mm foetus and no heart beat. The foetus should have been about 26mm by now.

I managed to hold myself together for a couple of minutes and then burst into tears. Fortunately hubby was with me and gave me lots of cuddles and support.

I had been spotting so I saw my Dr this morning who made the scan appointment for this afternoon but even though I was concerned it was still a huge shock. I am so disappointed and sad.

I don't think a woman can fully appreciate how it feels to miscarry until she has experienced it herself and unfortunately today I know how everyone else here in this part of the forum feels. I just can't imagine how awful it is for women who suffer a loss much later on.

I have chosen to wait to see if my body expels everything on its own so have another appointment in two and a half weeks time. I have been told to expect a heavier than normal and painful bleed. I'm not looking forward to that but hope it comes soon.

Big hugs to everyone of you who has had to deal with a miscarriage.

Sorry for the ramble.

My heart and my thoughts are with you both.

I have 2 healthy boys and have had 4 M/C's after them, I also don't understand this, all my test for myself and hubby have come back clear. I know it is the will of God.

The first few weeks will be difficult thereafter it will get easy.

Sending you hugs and lots and lots of love.

Hi hun

Really sorry you are goingthrough this. I am in exactly the same situation as you. I am now 10 weeks and baby was measuring 5-6 last week. HCG went down and so I am having a missed MC. I thought I would wait it out for a bleed but nothing so far has happened (only very slight spotting and the odd cramp). I have to go for 2nd scan on monday and will request erpc as the wait is too painful. My baby stopped growing 4-5 weeks ago and so I think it is time to have all the tissue removed.

Quite a few women have gone though the same over the past couple of weeks, which is when I started looking at this section. I have been private messaging a couple, who have been so lovely and supportive. If you need any advice, let us know.
xxxx

Thank you everyone.

Selina and SK100, I'm sorry you're both going through the same thing, it's horrible.

I'm sitting here watching TV this morning and on a medical emergency programme they announce that a woman with the same name as me has been flown in from a place with the same name as I had given to my little foetus. I can't believe I'm not pregnant anymore.

Aww Sweetie. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. (I've just gone through it to - I had a D&C on Wed after a MMC at 9 weeks)

Don't worry, that was definitely not a 'ramble'. We're all here for you
