I hope everything is fine; please let us know the results. With me there was a tiny bit of retained tissue which they said at this point; is not that unusual and I just need to come for a repeat u/s in two weeks...otherwise I am fine and my bleeding stopped once and for all a few days ago (it stopped at five days then started again a week later but only very light) they said it would be good if it started again as it would then ensure everything does come out...but knowing my body it has to do everything the hard way lol.

Thanks Sophster

I didnt really get any further forward-- when i rang on wed like they asked if test was pos i asked is it the same scan they said yes---- when i got there they said would be internal scan as ultra sound wouldnt show the small amt of product if any they expected they would find!

So i said yet again ive been given crap info!!! and asked what they would do if there was any retained product they advised i would b sent away fro another 2 weeks in the hope that it passes naturally.

I have decided to just monitor myself and get on with life as normal as poss- if after 4 weeks i am still showing pos tests i will re contact them my bleeding has stopped so am hopefull it may be over physically at least.

I dont think i could have coped with an internal followed by them saying you still have some retained tissue but go away for 2 weeks! I would rather assume the positive stance that the worst is over physically.

I need to start putting me backk together emotionally or i will just get more and more down!

So i will do weekly test for preg and hope i get a neg asap!

fingers crossed i am planning a week of me time next week and hopefully with a neg preg test will go back to work before this moth is over.

Hi

yes its an internal scan but they don't often tell you that, I read it on the letter. Just see how things go; but if you still don't feel right after a month ask them for the internal scan just so you can see whats going on; while it is ok for a while to see how things go with these things after about a month there is an increased risk of infection and scarring from any retained 'product' (oh how I hate that term); this is why they really insist on keeping an eye on things. If you've never had an internal scan before; they are not as invasive as a smear or any other internal exam; I usually have massive problems with those but this one they only need to put the probe a tiny way in which they say is uncomfortable but I didn't even feel it when I had mine; and you are covered with a sheet the whole time.
