I have another thread describing the curious serendipity that was my brief pregnancy in first trimester. baby was conceived on the same day that my bf's father passed away....it was difficult even to tell him since he was grieving...
Anyway. new Mystery. My doctor actually called me (jokingly) a freak of nature.
LMP: July 9.
I had surgery to remove an ectopic on August 26th (Laparotomy - Salpingostomy I believe). At the time my HCG should have been over 3000, but was a mere 950 or so - which is one reason they diagnosed a tubal pregnancy. Other reason was an ultrasound of an empty uterus but a pelvis full of blood. (I bled non stop). On September the 3rd, a blood test yielded the expected result of less than 60. The dr. told me at the time that my drop was perfect - and I would be back to "0" within a very short time (like, 4 days).
September 25th: One full month after the surgery, and 3 full weeks after measuring a measley 60, I managed to get a positive pregnancy result
twice (I always do two).
Went baaack to dr's (AGAIN) she turned her head at me and said: "My goodness - WHAT are you doing? You have been through such a mystery"!
She said my positive tests definitely were NOT normal.
She asked if I had sex. The answer is - yeah - lots & lots - BUT - we have been EXCEEDINGLY careful with our condom usage.
She gave me ANOTHER blood test requisition - which I will not be able to get until tomorrow - and will not get the result until like, Wed or Thurs. Back on this merry go round of waiting & torture...i guess...
There are just two possibilities (Unless YOU dear reader, can add another, or enlighten me to the more likely):
1 - persistent trophoblast (a tiny pc of trophoblast hanging around keeping my HCG levels just high enough to trigger a positive test)...This is weird to me...because my hormones were tracked on 9/3 and were right on schedule - just a couple days from bottoming out....
2 - Pregnant with a brand new and very clever safe cracking baby.
My boyfriend said he will never sleep with me again. I told him he is perhaps within his rights to turn on his heel and run very fast.
