I'm Currently Feeling: | Found out what happened My husband and I lost our bany 2 weeks ago now and the other day I had a doctors appointment. I passed the baby at the hospital and they took it for an autopsy( not sure how you spell it !!??) The doctor told me that even though I was suppose to be 12 weeks that my baby's development was only at about 5-6 weeks and that it just stopped growing and I carried it for 6 weeks and didn't even know the baby was already gone. It was quite disturbing but in the same token I was glad to know what happened. I had that hovering over my head...what happened to my baby????? It has helped in the healing process. Have any of you heard of this....and what happens to stop the baby from growing? I ate good and took really good care of myself....I don't get it. | | | | Status: Online

| Hi Dee, sorry for your loss. Similar happened to me they took my baby away to test but said that I would probably not find out what happened (they just test for research or something). On the scan I had they said that the baby had stopped growing too I was told that this is normally a genetic fault? | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | It wasn't your fault, but I am sorry for your loss. I think when the baby dies it's because there is something wrong with the baby so nature takes its course but I'm not sure. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi - I am so sorry to hear you sad news.
I am going through something similar. My baby measures 6 weeks 5days and I am 9 weeks 4 days, my dates are 100% correct. I have been having weekly scans as I have a large cyst which was causing complications. My baby was growing every week bur not at the rate it should be - when they told me the bad news on saturday I asked why if my foetus was in fact dead was it still growing and they could not answer this? It makes it worse that they make you wait - at this stage I probably won't get a D&C until next week. I'm sure like me you felt pregnant and were not bleeding so asssumed everything was ok it must have been a total shock for you to hear that at your 12 week scan. | | | | Status: Offline
