I'm the same Laura, no idea what tests they did and too emotional to ask when had recent long awaited appt. Think I'll ask if I can have results sent to me. Shouldn't they be offered as standard?

Hi Chilli - yes we had a kitten at the time which was a right little sod if you get what I mean and it was constant "shi***ng" everywhere, we got rid of it after 2 weeks but it was to late - the docs said it was so apparent in my bloods after MC, I almost died with blood poisioning was horrible - was really the only explanation i ever had but cant imagine it has lead to 2 further MC some 5 years later

great thread smiler. well so far i dont have a clue what they have tested me for. yes my consultant/doctors are so helpful. the only tests i know we have had done are the blood clotting ones and the karaotyping ones. i havent had any hormone ones i.e lh,fsh, progesterone and i havent had a scan either. going to ring my consultant up about it.

does anyone know where i can get the info to find out what tests they have done on me so far? i also had some tests done whilst i was still pg with jessica i know one was the torch test the rest i am clueless on.

i feel really let down with my nhs yet again for not keeping me well informed when everyone else seems to know every test they have had done and i only know 3 of them. grrr!!!! x

There seems to be quite a lot of variation in what is done in NHS clinics.

Think that you can get information from your medical records by writing to the NHS organisation (e.g. trust) where you had the test - or your GP may have letters from the hospital. The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) at the hospital may be a good place to start.

Some trusts now copy patients in when they write to the GP - mine does this and it's good.

thanks smiler i shall write to pals and ask them then as they were so helpful when i complained about me being misinformed regarding jessicas pm results and said if i ever needed there help again to contact them.

i think all hospital should follow the same protocol when it comes to things like this as it is so varied to what treatment is available in each hospital. x

I have found PALs really helpful too. We have been awaiting our karyotyping test results and my blood-clotting ones. After a long time and phone calls to the relevant team were getting nowhere ("you'll get a letter" is all they ever say! But in our experience you rarely do): PALs have been helping to get to the bottom of it and have advised that the results are back and that we'll get them this week.

sorry to hear your results are taking their time too hun. well suprise suprise i've been waiting on my kareotyping ones. was told at my last appointment they may take another 2 weeks and theh they would write to me which would take anothet week. that was 3 weeks ago and i have heard nada so my complaint to pals is going to get even bigger now!!!

and its typical i have to ring and do some chasing up on as to what is going on. you would of thought from my first complaint with jessicas results they would move their butts a bit more but no just likes to keep us in limbo.

it frustrates me so much wouldnt mind but why give me a time scale when you can't adhere to it!!! th past 4 months has been filled with waiting and i am sick of waiting i just want to move on with my life concentrate on ttc and not having test results hanging over me.

can you tell i am having a shitty day today!

smiler i really do hope you get your results back this week let me know how you get on wont you. x
