Recurrent miscarriage books

Hello

Can anyone recommend a good book on recurrent miscarriages please? I have a couple of general miscarriage books and want to start reading up before I get my referral through.

I have been fobbed off in the past by things that some doctors have told me and I know it is a load of old rubbish to be polite.

Thanks, Rumps x

I've read this one, in case you haven't....

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Miscarriage-...8017326&sr=8-1

Which deals with both individual and recurrent miscarrige. I found it quite informative but reassuring. The info on testing isn't bad, and there's some good info out of study groups that have been done.

What I found amazing is that the evidence is out there as to how good care of women in early pregancy drastically improves what they referred to as "live take home baby rate" yet I for one will still have to fight for any early care, or scans in my area if I'm lucky enough to fall again....

Thank you both.

I guess too much info can be baffling.

I will wait and see what the specialist has to say.

Just dont want to be fobbed off x

I cant reccomend lesley regans book more. her book (the one suggested above) mainly refers to recurrant miscarriage suffers - she is the main lady to see in london st. marys hospital and has an 80% success rate. she really knows her stuff.
the book itself is easy to read, informative yet it is written for the average person to understand - not just doctors and prefessionals (ie not too much heavy medical wording!!!!)
if you are going to read a book make this the one. i am constantly looking back at it to help me understand what to speak to my gyne about.
i have also started reading the zita west book 'the guide to getting pregnant' or it's caled something like that. not so much aimed at m/c but more at how to give your body and baby the best possible chance next time

Yep - would definitely recommend Prof Lesley Regan's book - 'Miscarriage, and what every Woman Should Know'. I bought this book whilst suffering from recurrent miscarriage, and found that it helped me a lot, to understand what my Consultant Gynae was talking about. It also helped me come up with some questions to ask him! I was eventually referred to Prof Regan's clinic in London, and meeting the woman in person was a bit strange (I think I was star struck, and could kick myself now for not getting her to sign the book!) Long story short, and after a bit of surgery, and with the aid of 2 low dose aspirin a day, I went on to deliver identical twin Daughters, and I'm currently pregnant again! Can't sing the praises of Prof Regan, her book and her team highly enough. Good look with your consultant!
