Question for you girls after mmc

Hi girls,

I am a week past my D&C now after loosing my bean at 9+2 and still hpt's are showing a positive albeit lighter than the control line. Any idea how long before they will go negative ? Do the tests need to be negative before I can possibly ovulate again ?

We are so keen to start trying again and it's the only thing keeping me going right now. Everyone keeps telling me I should be really fertile right now so I want to make the most of it. It took us over 2 1/2 years to get my first ever BFP on Clomid and of course this month I wont be on it so have to make to most of being 'fertile' without any additional help. Really hope it works.

to you all xx

It can take 6 - 8 weeks for the hormones to fully get out of your body, but that does not mean that you can't get pregnant in that time. That's just the problem with getting pregnant again the first month, it's hard to tell if it's a real positive or just hormones from the last pregnancy.

In your situation I'd just go for it and see how it ends up. Just go for it and realize that it could be a little bit more difficult to really figure out for sure if your pregnant right away or not.

They did tell me to wait 2 full weeks before having sex, to prevent any infection. But that works for you because that will be at the time of ovulation.

Thanks for quick reply hun, well I didnt know that ? so even though hpts are still showing positive after my miscarriage I can still fall pregnant without them having to go negative first.... crumbs so it will be difficult to know whether I am pregnant or not then after a few weeks but I guess over time they should get darker and not lighter.

That really helps thanks x

I was told that you can ovulate when your levels are 100 or below, but more realistically, they have to be next to zero before it happens.

I am in the same situation than you, except I miscarried naturally. I found out 3 weeks ago that I'd lost the baby, bled a week later for about 5 days. My last blood test a week ago was 194. I am going again on Monday and so hope it will be under 100.

Like you, I just want to move on. My OH and I have resumed as soon as the bleeding was over. It is lovely, but it would be even lovelier if I knew it could possibly result in another I am starting to feel a bit fed up with this wait, just want to be in the 2ww again and start ttc officially again.

Are you still getting blood tests?

Hi FBbaby,

So sorry to hear of your loss hun.

Do you know I have not even been offered any blood tests.... maybe I should go to the doctors to ask for one ? Least I would know for sure what my levels are.

Hi Puddle

Im also a week past D&C and have resumed baby dancing !! I had one day bleed, went to see GP on Monday (3 days past D&C) armed with questions and he said I can resume trying as soon as hubby and I see fit. I also asked the question re blood tests and my referral appointment came through today I am also in the Midlands like you.

I have tried HPT and OPK and all coming up positive at min but im just glad to be back on track in that department with no inherant problems !

Sorry for your loss hun !!!

Glad to hear that you have started baby dancing again... I just want to move on and focus on thoughts of a new bean. Reasuring that your GP has said you can resume trying.

I have no bleeding now and feel ready to try again. Nice to speak to someone close by, I live in Stourbridge so not too far away from you.

Hi hun, I had medical management MC and am either CD12 (if CD1 was when had some red blood) or it is 8 days since i passed something in hospital.
On Wednesday DH and I decided to start TTC again straight away (i have stopped bleeding and just have brown cm ).
It took us 16 cycles to get a BFP since my last MC so there is no way i am waiting.
I am still getting BFPs on HTPs and OPKs so i'm not wasting the OPKs anymore until i get BFNs. My CP is really high but sometimes soft and sometimes firm? I'm just hoping that we strike lucky cycle but don't know if it is possible with the BFPs I'm still getting?
I'll go to the docs a week Monday if i'm still getting BFPs - don't think they'll help though

The first month after a loss is the worst in terms of hormones for sure. You can get pregnant and ovulation does not come at the normal time it usually would necessarily. They do talk about increased fertility but they don't know why or how it happens, is what I was told. Some drs say it's true, others say it's a wivestale. So take it for what it's worth. If your ready to try again I'd just start having sex every other day until your day 28 rolls around. Mind you your period could come anytime between 4 weeks and 8 weeks. So, YEAH! Crazy stuff happens that first month! If your ok with that strangeness then go for it! Waiting is waiting on a normal month or a weird one as far as I'm concerned. You could just try without thinking that it will be for sure, know what I mean? You'll never know what happens

Hello there,

As you know puddleduck I am in the same position as you having had my d and c on 24th June, and I am eager to try again, my problem is that every doctor (3) and the midwife who phoned me for a chat after D and C told me that I should wait for 3 months to get my uterus back in order before trying again. I don't know what to do as I dont want to risk another mmc, so what do you guys think?
