Hey. Can I just say I am sooo sooo sorry your are having to arrange a funeral for your daughter

The music we had at Alex's funeral was Precious Child - Karen Taylor-Good. I now like Arms of an angel which has also been mentioned and Somewhere over the rainbow by Israel someone (one of the ladies shared this with me on another thread and I fell in love with the song)

I spent all of the time I had preparing for Alex's funeral. I designed his service sheet and chose what order I wanted his service to be in. We had 3 poems. We sang all things bright and beautiful. We had my sister and OH uncle read 2 of the poems and the vicar read the other. One of the poems we had was from the thread I made about funeral poems (I will look after I replied and paste it for you, DiddyDons posted it on the 1st page) The other 2 were SIDS poems.

I had 4 photos of him on the front and his footprints on the back of the page. Richard, Alex's daddy carried Alex into church and out of church. He also lowered Alex into his resting place

In the evening just family went back up to Alex's grave (he was buried in the babies section) and we relased 12 baby blue balloons up to Heaven for Alex

I will be thinking of you on Wednesday, I hope it goes as well as it can for you. Lots of

If you have any more questions feel free to PM me xxx

Aw Hayley, your service for Alex sounds perfect....well its not perfect because its wrong iykwim,....But i am sure you done him so very proud. Im glad you liked that Poem I found for you, its lovely isnt it?!

Amy-Im so sorry your going through this babe

Sophies funeral was arranged by the hospital. I could choose what I wanted and have my own songs/poems etc but I was in such a state I just kinda left it up to the chaplin. I regret this now so I think its "nice" that your asking for advice. I personally like the song "there you'll be" by Faith Hill and I think a nice little poem would be nice. Then maybe you can release some balloons for her like what Hayley did?!

Im thinking of you x x x

thanks for your help ladies.

This is what we have decided

Evie's Service

Walk in

Michael Jackson - Gone too soon

Daddy carrying coffin, let song play til end leaving opportunity for people to lay flowers.

Opening

Hospital Chaplain to say a few words.

Readings

Zara to read poem

Another poem read by Daddy or other

Prayer

Chaplain to say prayer

End Song

Precious Child - Karen Taylor Good

Chaplain to request that people sit for a few minutes and follow Amy and Ian's lead. Curtain not drawn around Evie. Amy will put Evie's teddy with her and say last goodbyes.

The only problem we have... we cant get hold of the album that precious child is on

Sounds beautiful sweetheart

Seb was cremated with the other babies, but we had our own little memorial service for him.

We had Goo Goo Dolls - Iris, Avril Lavigne - Slipped Away and an instrumental that a very very close friend of ours wrote for him (he's since asked our permission to use it for a record he's releasing... the first time I heard it I cried and cried, but now I love it...)

I'm glad you've been able to find the strength to organise all this sweetie, it's one of my biggest regrets that I didn't I wasn't in any sort of state to have as much input into Sebs memorial as I wanted to
