Do you count a chemical pregnancy as a miscarriage?

Sorry girls if this is the most stupid question but do you count a chemical pregnancy as a miscarriage?

If so, this will be my 3rd and surely, I am eligible for testing now?

I think you do, they have for me. Am now undergoing tests - don't ask me what, don't have a clue but history is chemical in Jan 2008, MMC Feb 2009, MMC June 2009. You might have to insist, depends on GP/consultant etc. Good luck

Hi Rumpskin

Sorry to hear your news. I had IVF and got a after the first cycle. Unfortunately we lost the pregnancy 2 days after our test date. My fertility consultant referred to it as a biochemical pregnancy and then said that miscarriage is very common. So my understanding is that a biochemical pregnancy is still classed as a miscarriage - albeit a very early one.

If you feel it necessary to ensure you get your tests done, I'd slightly stretch the truth about the timeframes involved.

Good luck. I firmly believe our babies are out there waiting for us - we just haven't quite found them yet...

I'd consider it a miscarriage but I would tell the whole truth about the timeline. I think it's very important that they have all the proper information to go off of to figure out why this is happening to you. If you change dates that could change their results. I'd think "when" miscarriage happens would be an important part of figuring out "why", personally.

My GP didn't, I had a mmc then a chemical then a m/c, but she only classed the actual m/cs as pregnancies.

Oh I'm so sorry hun

I had three early miscarriages at 4+5 and I counted them as miscarriages and was referred for testing because of them
