Miscarriage

I found out I was 6 wks pregnant and then on tuesday I had some spotting, I wasn't to concerned because I'd had this in my previous pregancy for which I have a 3yr old daughter.
I went to doctor to be sure and they said to have a scan yesterday, again I wasn't to bothered but during a internal scan they said that I had, had a miscarriage, I was and obviously still am deverstated!
It was such a shock! i just feel numb and don't really know what to do or say!
From being so excited to being told the baby isn't there any more! words can't describe!
I would like some advise from anyone who has been through this on how long the bleeding and pains/cramps last?

thanks xx

Hi Nomes1982 .
I would like to say that I am very very sorry for your loss. , & hope your next is successful.

I have had two miscarriages since April of this year. With my first miscarriage it was started the first & second day with just spotting which I had thought nothing of as well as you, When I went in my levels were dropping drastically & my ultrasound had showed no baby. I had no cramps at all on that one but lots of clotting (sorry TMI) , I bled/spotted for a total of 6 days. It was a natural miscarriage, & no D&C was needed. Doctor asked me to wait at least one cycle before trying again. I done exactly that & got pregnant right after my first normal period , which had been 27 days from the first day my bleeding started, lasted 5 days.

I then began to cramp alot & bleed (but not spotting & not super heavy) like a normal period. I had no clots at first at all . Went to the doctor & they told me I was miscarrying. At this time I did not need an ultra sound, My bleeding/spotting lasted a total of 6 days again. They said I was fine to go home, & I went to see my doctor, & he had told me due to my ultrasound from before , it looks like my uterus & everything was fine. He said I have no fertility problems because I can get pregnant, I just cannot hold on to my baby. He has made on appointment for the 20th with a gyno incase they want to run some tests, which he says they probably won't because nothing is wrong with me just that it might have been due to smoking & then qutting cold turkey .
He had told me I could start trying again right away. I am extremely devestated, me & my boyfriend were sooo excitedd. Now I am 1dpo, & waiting to test again.

I tell you this, because the doctor told me they are very common amougst women, & even if you have had a successful pregnancy. I know I still have hope, I just try not to stress & keep my head held high .

I hope that your next pregnancy will be a very healthy & happy nine months and beyond
& congrats on your first child .

hello everyone, firstly i would just like to say how sorry i am to read about your very sad stories. i feel like im intruding on your links the reason being is because my losses happened 25-30yrs ago. i suffered 6 miscarriages and 1 ectopic pregnancy, the ectopic pregnancy was very traumatic and i very nearly lossed my life. i would have hoped that after all this time there would have been more understanding and compassion to you all that have gone through the loss of a baby, irrespective of how far advanced the pregnancy was. All those years ago it was a taboo subject to even dare speak about the loss of a baby, my first pregnancy ended at 20wks i never even new what sex my baby was, I was told by the medical profession that i would not want to know (how wrong they where ) after the ectopic pregnancy and with only one fallopian tube I went on to have 3 beautiful daughters and I thank god everyday. my message to you all is that you never forget the little ones you loose (iv not and its 25yrs +) but the pain does become bearable. my eldest daughter is now a midwife and she has asked me about the experiences that I encountered, she is determend to not let her patients suffer in the way that i did. I think its brilliant that there is a site like this for women to seek help, advise and support and I wish you all the very best xx
