Ugh, that sounds so frustrating!! I've heard that drs don't like progesterone as well. I was told that it's really hard to figure out exactly how much to prescribe someone. I was told that you need a certain amount at a very certain time of day. If you are measuring in a measuring spoon and leave some in the spoon that can create a change in the dosage. That's what frustrates drs.

I got this info from my dr and where I got great info from was my herbalist of all people. She loves progesterone! She told me that it's true about the dosage that any tiny difference can make a huge change on the effectiveness of it. But what that means is that it can take a longer time to figure out exactly how much you do need. Know what I mean? You may have a couple months that it's wonky and not totally accurate, but after some time you will get into a rythm and know how much you are giving yourself and how it's working. Not sure if you have avaiablity to a herbalist but they do saliva tests to accurately test your hormone levels. They need to be done at certain times of day throughout the month to really test your levels. This can be match ed with the dosage of the cream to make sure your getting what you need. The problem that the medical feild has is that hormones DO need to be tested all the time and that costs money! Sad but true, eh? It's almost like taking blood pressure, if your stressed it can change, if your relaxed it can change. So a one time blood test isn't accurate.

Rambling over, just wanted to share what I know about it. Long story short, I think it's great that your taking control and with a new dr. Ask a lot of questions and make sure you leave being confident that something good is being done. Also ask what they can and can't find out. Sometimes people think that drs should know everything and sadly they don't. Fertility is fickle and I think they realize that so they seem to push it off
