bleeding after medical miscarriage

Help ladies!!!

I had medical miscarriage (first pregnancy) on 29th march and am still bleeding 7 weeks later. I went through the stage of passing brownish gunge, now its heavy fresh blood. I was told this could be a period, but its been like this for nearly 2 weeks. Is it normal to bleed for this long? Evryone else seems to bleed 4 weeks max. My sisters have had 4 healthy babies and never bleed more than 4 weeks. The hospital and my gp are usless, they just keep saying wait another week, wait another week. Also, do you think it would be safe to start using tampons again? Pads are making me sore (!)

I feel like i cant get on with my life as every time i go to the toilet im losing my baby all over again. And bleeding this long im missing outon the ultra fertile time to try again.

Feel so fed up, just cry all the time. People give me sympathy but look at me like i should be over it already but its hard. To make it worse, my sister is expecting twins in july and i cant even bring myself to look at her.

Any help or advice would be really appreciated

Thanks

K

Oh you poor thing so sorry for your loss and that you are going through this still.
Some women do bleed longer then others I know that doesn't help but it is true. I was told that I could bleed for up to 8 weeks by my gyn.. I hope it stops soon and you can move on to the next step in your baby making journey. Best of luck sweetie!!

I am so sorry for your loss and I am sorry you are still bleeding. I usually bleed for at least 8 weeks and the longest was 17 weeks. I know how terrible it is. It can be "normal". But it also can be due to a problem. The concerning thing would be retained tissue. That can set you up for an infection. The other thing could just be that your hormones are out of whack. If it were me and I was not getting anywhere with my Dr I would first take a pg test and see if there is a detectable level still there. If so I would call the Dr and tell them because that should be monitored. I do hope you begin to heal quickly. Many hugs to you.

I am sorry for your loss. I bled for 6 weeks after my medical management and then had my first AF, after that my periods came every 2 weeks for the next 6 months and they told me that was 'normal' It was really getting to me and like you I felt like each time I bled I was re-living my m/c.

I just really wanted to say that there is light at the end of the tunnel though cos soon after I got my

Don't suffer in silence though hun, if you are concerned keep on at your docs for further investigations if you feel things are not right
