I'm Currently Feeling: | Aww sweety
A girl I know is due soon with her first baby. She and her OH went through a really long and hard TTC journey, but it worked out in the end. I know loads of other examples. I don't remember if I ever told you that my 16 year old brother and sister (twins) are IVF babies, and I was old enough to remember how hard the whole process was for my parents. I remember the injections and the sadness when it didn't work out the first time. They had to travel from Iceland to England to the Bourn Hall clinic (the original IVF baby came from there I think) and I went with them for the secong time because it took so long.
Clearly I brought them good luck, since the trip gave them the twins So now I'm sending you all my good luck vibes for the test tomorrow and to where ever your journey will take you. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | (X-posted)
Okay... so I get to the doctors and we do the post-coital. Every other month things have looked really good but this month it was bad. My CM was completely non-exsistant (which I totally knew from ) and so he said that it was okay and I was going to have to do IUI if I did have a follicle.
On to the ultrasound. It was shit... nothing... Biggest one this time was a 9. (Last month was a 10 and it needs to be a 20! ) I just felt so so numb but then the doc was like, "there is one more option."
DH and I went to Dr. Elrod's office and he has this HUGE medical text book open on his desk. He says I am going to do Clomid one more time but take steroids with it. (The steroid is called Dexamethasone.) He said in some cases, that "wakes up" the ovaries and Clomid will then work. So... one more with Dr. Elrod and one more month of Clomid (50mg.) He said 50mgs because if it does work then he doesn't want me to have 14 folicles. LOL In my opinion, 14 is better than ZERO but I know what he is saying so I agreed.
No more post-coitals for me. When I do O, it will now be IUI. The trick is now to freaking O. Maybe these steroids will help. We shall see. This is a last resort though with my doc. After this, it is really is on to shots with a new doctor. He made that really clear to us today.
Now I wait til cd34 and then Provera. On cd1 I start the Dexamethasone and Clomid is still cd5-9.
Because I was bummed today, I cut my hair REALLY nice ($60 later - I will post pictures tomorrow night.) and bought "Conceive" Magazine and a flat iron and some other things. DH really spoiled me and took good care of me today. (He always does but he has done his damnedest to cheer me up and I totally appreciate it!)
So... such is life... On to IUI and Dexamethasone and god knows what else but it will be okay. Really, we are going to work this thing out! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Your doc sounds nice, like he really cares and wants to try everything he can
I'm still sorry you didn't get the results you wanted, but I admire your strength. Can't wait to see the pics of your new haircut Oh and by the way, I just noticed your ticker, have you lost 14 pounds ?!?! omg I'm so freaking jealous! lol, I still haven't found a way to lose my extra weight, it sucks!
Big to you! I think you are one of the bravest people I know (even though we've never met hehe) |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks for all the love and support.
I am slowly coming to terms with the IUI prospect. For whatever reason, I felt totally blindsided by it as my CM was always fine. Oh well... it is what it is and at least I know that when I do O, everything that can be done, will be done.
(PS - I HATE ERGAMONIC KEYBOARDS! I am posting from my husbands work and these keyboards suck!!!! LOL) |
