Party Games

okdokey - who can think of good kids party games?

I've got DDs friends coming to our house (madness) for her birthday party and the only games I can remember are:

pass the parcel
musical bumps and musical statues (not got enough chairs for musical chairs)
pin the tail on the donkey

and then I'm stuck - we used to play "trip to mars" when I was little which involved getting dressed up then dissecting a mars bar with a knife and fork - but I think that's a bit advanced for 6 year olds. I think dancing competitions will end in tears - but I might resort to that if i run out of ideas.. I think we used to play sleeping lions/policmen/whatever - where all the children have to lie still and they get picked off when they move - which i suspect is good when the harrassed parent is needing a break.

Am I missing anything obvious? (She's going to be 6) - Any help much appreciated

i dont know about party games but soemthing good my mum did when i was little was she done a "Good Behaviour Bin" filled a big bin with ripped up paper and went to the pound shop and bought lots of cheap toys and wrapped them (blue wrapper for boys toys - pink for girls toys) and a few small bags of sweets wrapped up and put them in the bin too. She explained ot everyone that if everyone was nice to each other and kind and behaved well then at the end of the party they all get to have a present from the good behaviour bin....

It was such a cheap thing to do but my little brother and his friends loved it!!

oh get a pinata, they are such cool fun and it lets them loose of some of their energy

http://www.partyrama.co.uk/mcp/Pinata_Party.html

or do a themed party, like fancy dress or high school musical or barbie whatever shes into

or a treasure hunt is great fun

or a kind of cluedo where you find clues & stuff, my little girl went to a party like this and she said it was brilliant and she was 6-7 at the time, they even sent the invitations out in code with top secret mission on the front. I thought it hilarious!

oooo - Pinata and treasure hunt I think I still have time to fit in thanks . Invitations are already out so too late for a themed party - and i don't think I have the stamina right now to deal with 6 year olds trying to solve clues!! My patience is thin at the best of times!

Simon says is fantastic for all ages! You can make it as easy or hard as you like.

Treasure hunts are fun too...
