| Pregnant (Expecting) Active BnB Member  Join Date: Jun 2008 Posts: 25 | I"m new here Hello everyone! THis is my first post, and my first time here at Baby and Bump. I am 17 weeks pregnant as of today  I got a call from my OBGYN that the bloodwork that was done (2nd part of the IPS testing) came back saying that my had a 1 in 310 chance of having spina bifida; the norm is i in 1000. He said not to worry, and this just is pretty much a way of saying that there should be further testing. So we have an ultrasound in 2 weeks to find out what that shows. I am just so nervous, and 2 weeks is a long time!! Has anyone here ever experienced anything like this? I will be worried sick until the day I get the results of that ultrasound. And I have been taking a prenatal vitamin and folic acid for about a year now, so I am so frustrated and nervous. Anyone out there who can reassure me who has gone though the same? Thanks so much! |
