Newbie looking for some advice on placenta previa...

Hello

I am completely new to BB and had not heard of the site until 5 days ago, when I started to frantically look for help.

I am 27 weeks 6 days today and am so glad that baby is where it is still as Saturday last week I thought I was having an emergency c-section to get baby out.

I was admitted to hospital 11 days ago when I started bleeding for the 2nd time. It had happened a few days before but seeing it stopped as quick as it had started, and the midwife had given me the all clear the following day - I thought all was fine. I was wrong.

On my 20week scan they picked up that my placenta was low, and booked me in for another scan at 34 weeks to check it had moved. This happened in my first pregnancy 2 yrs ago, so I did not think twice about it.

However, it now is apparent I have placenta previa - my placenta is completely covering my cervix and is positioned on 3 walls of my uterus and hence is being pulled in all directions as my uterus is growing. I was admitted cause although the bleeding again stopped, usually a major bleed occurs within 24 hours or so. I say this and luckily for me, I have yet to have that bleed.

I am waiting to be scanned again on Monday to see what is happening but in the meantime have the prospect that baby could be born any day now.

I've been trying to find out information on prem babies but cant seem to find anything which is similar to my situation and would be so very grateful if anyone can help or point me in the direction where I can find more.

The staff here have all been totally amazing and taking such good care of me, but when women all round me are in labour and have little ones to care for I'd like to know more about the "what ifs" without hassling them.

PLEASE HELP
