Do you have to work a minimum amount of time...

...after returning from 1st mat leave in order to get full entitlement for 2nd lots of mat leave?

Am thinking ahead rather far here, but am not enjoying being pg at all, but want two kids. Didn't have trouble ttc (though I know this doesn't guarantee anything next time around) and feel like, in order to get my family, I'd rather push on and ttc when LO is still young (12-18 months) rather than get back into old routines, get life and body back...and then have to go through this disruption all over again.

My reasoning feels quite heartless as I'm typing, but it would be better for kids - close in age - better for me - not as prolonged disruption of career/body turmoil - and better financially - less paying for childcare for #1 as would be on mat leave with #2 when he/she is still pre-school.

I know I'm assuming things will be fine with this LO - no health issues - and fine with DH - no relationship issues - and with me - no medical issues - but I'm not sure if I need to return to work for a minimum amount of time before I can qualify for full mat pay rights again.

Thanks for any help - and sorry for long post!

From what I've read online you are entitled to FULL maternity leave even if you take it straight after your current leave, as you jsut have to be employed for the 26 weeks, I believe maternity leave is classed by this. But not sure how it would work for pay.
