I got really upset the other night cos it occured to me that I wont have the same surname as the baby and OH. OH said I'm being silly and it makes no difference at all- and technically it doesn't, but I'm worried I wont feel like a family with me having adifferent name. Has anyone else felt like this?

I worried that I'd feel the same way if I did this, so we used both our surnames so Ryan has a double-barrelled surname. Is this a possibility perhaps? xx

Do you think you will get married in the future? Because then you know you will all have the same name eventually? Or maybe you could change you name via Deed Poll? It's not 'silly' if it's how you feel... I think I would be inclined to feel the same if it were me. In fact, when my husband and I got married, I changed my daughter's (from a previous relatinship) name so that we would all be the same.

Sometimes I wish I had the same surname as Noah & Chris. We're engaged and hopefully one day (if we ever have enough money, lol) we'll get married.

Sometimes it annoys me when people just assume we're married and they write my name down or call me Mrs (use chris's surname) rather than my own.

I did consider changing my surname when I was PG but thought I'd only be doing it to seem "proper" and because of what "other people" may think, then I thought 'Sod other people, I'll wait til we're married!'

I'm married and still use my maiden name, mostly because of immigration (all of my documents of course had my maiden name on it so immigration used my maiden name for all of my paperwork and now my Permanent residency card and everything else is in that name) and I'm in no hurry to pay immigration more money so that they'll change my name. Originally I wanted to take my DH's name so that I would have the same name as our children, but honestly since I've gotten pregnant it hasn't seemed that important to me. I know that the children belong to both my DH and I equally and if other people have a problem with us having two different last names, well tough!

I am not married to my OH but i would like the same name as him and the baby, we are going to go abroad and get married after the babies born (and i have lost all my baby weight!) yay!
