I'm Currently Feeling: | I want to become a midwife Hi girls just wanted to ask i want to go to do a midwifery degree as i think i have a lot to offer being a teen and having a baby , having a baby , having a misscariage, losing a child and after having 3 children ive made my mind up thats what i really want to do but dont know how to go about it any ideas? xx |

| not sure if you need to do nursing degree then specialise, could you maybe ask your hv. I know when I had Gabriel one of the mw on scbu was leaving to train to be hv.
If u have to do nursing degree i can maybe get you some info 'cos girl iwork withs sister is at Southampton Uni doing nursing at the mo. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | You dont need to have a nursing degree you can have a direct entry with GCSEs, think its english, maths, science at C or above. Thats what it used to be, it may have changed now though ! and also a health related subject for example i got into nursing with GCSES and a diploma in childcare, that was 4 years ago now though so it may have changed.
You need to contact NMAS (nursing and midwifery admissions service) http://www.nmas.ac.uk/
If you write to the address on the front page they will send you an application pack. Or just phone your local university for details !

I'm Currently Feeling: | I don't know about overseas but in australia you have to have a nursing degree before you can go specialise midwifery.
I am two years into my nursing degree..
Its good fun..
