I'm Currently Feeling: | Water Bills advice plz :( I AINT HAPPY!
I have recently moved house and have today recieved my new bill information for my new property. My past house I was paying £156.81 yearly. Now I see that for the same period in my new property I will be paying £284.00 or more. This seems such a lot more to pay considering what I was paying before. nearly £130 more just for moving house. Surely I wont be using any more water. There is only me and my baby here most of the time cuz my partner has a pub where he stays most nights?!
Perhaps having a water meter put in would reduce my payment dramatically? or is this just something I am gonna have to pay? I have moved from a 2 bed terraced to a 3 bed ex council. Not that much in it really and we DEFINATELY will not be using any more water. Less infact cuz we used to water the garden in our old property every day. This new garden is a sh*t tip at the min so it wont need watering LoL.
It seems like such a big increase to pay with no gain.
how much on average do you all pay? am I right to write to severn trent and sorta complain or is it a waste of time??

I'm Currently Feeling: | We used to live in a house without a water meter, and it was £21 a month for 8 months, so £168 a year. This house has a meter, and they have estimated we need to pay £35 a month, but this is every month with none off! So £420 a year!!!!!! |

| It's probably automatically higher than your old place becuase there are more bedrooms, so they assume you are using more water (ie more people living in a 3bed than a 2bed). You should contact them, you don't know until you ask I guess, but I suspect the rate is standard for your area and house size. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Sorry Imi, but I am pleased you have put that you pay that as I was beginning to wonder if we were being ripped off!
It's discgusting the differences in payment. How can they be soooo different? If they were evened out a bit more, we could maybe pay less. |

| We pay £45.76 a month, it was supposed to be nearer £65 a month but we applied for a meter (knowing we can't have one in this house) and they gave us a form to fill in to apply for a standard charge for the number of people in the house -we said there were 2. |
