If so you will have been charged a mortgage administration exit fee (MAEF) The FSA has recently ruled that banks have been over changing these fees and have to pay them back! All it takes from you is to contact your previous lender and ask for it back, you do not evnhave to know what you are owed, and were talking about £50 to £200 odd quid which wil without fuss be paid back into your bank account in around 2 working weeks.
Here is a link for full detail, including the procedure for each lender (some just require a phone call others require a letter)

Depends on who the provider is, With the Woolwich/Barclays its a dedicated phone line so you just give them your old mortgage account number and the address and the will tell you there and then how much your owed and just ask for the bank details of where you want the money deposited. If like in my Mus case is the Halifax they again have a specialist phone line which you call to get an application form which you have to fill out and return. You dont need to phone on your normal branch number, so dont worry about not knowing what your asking for. On the link I provided it will tell you what your bank need you to do, if its calling a specific number or writing to a specific department.

And yes you will get it refunded from both banks you moved from!
